ECU & TCU calibration · US partner shops
Real power, properly made
Custom calibration for European, American and Japanese performance cars, done in person at partner shops across the US. Your car goes on the bench, gets logged, and leaves with a map written for it.
Know your numbers
Pick your car. See what it makes from the factory, and what it makes after each stage, before you talk to anyone.
Estimated gain — Porsche 911 Turbo S 3.7 (992)
Figures assume 93 octane pump fuel and are estimates — the curve is a modeled turbo profile, not a dyno measurement. On 91 octane the same calibration makes less. Actual results vary with vehicle condition, fuel and final calibration. Stage 2 and Stage 3 require hardware that removes emissions equipment and are supplied for track-use vehicles only.
How it gets made
- ECU calibration
- Stage 1 for street cars, written per car: torque limiters, boost targets, timing and fueling set against datalogs from your engine — on your fuel, at your altitude, with the hardware you actually have. Stage 2 and Stage 3 need hardware that removes emissions equipment, so we supply those for track-use vehicles only.
- TCU / DSG tuning
- Shift pressure and clutch clamping raised to hold the new torque, shift points moved to where the power now is. Launch control and kickdown behavior set to how you drive the car.
- Bench work & ECU unlock
- Late-model Bosch, Continental and Denso units that no longer read over OBD come out and go on the bench. Read, unlock, write, back in the car — same visit, at the shop.
Tuned at a partner shop
Apex does not email files. Every calibration happens in person, on a lift, at a shop we work with — so the car can be logged, driven and corrected before you take it home.
The partner network is being built out now. Send your build and where you are, and we’ll come back with the closest bench — or put you on the list for when one opens near you.

Written on the car
A calibration starts with a datalog and ends with a datalog. We read the factory map, move what needs moving, then drive the car and watch what it actually does — knock correction, intake temps, lambda, boost error, clutch slip.
When the numbers say a stage is more than the hardware can hold, we say so and we stop there. Turning a car into a warranty claim is not a service.
